An introduction to get us started...

The Adventures of Robin and Jeff, young newlyweds who are just starting their lives together, living together for the first time, and learning the army lifestyle together. In their first year of marriage they will have many challenges: adjusting to living together, as well as facing their first deployment together, and trying to keep their bond strong through the highs and lows they will endure...

I'm Robin, me and my husband were married on May 8th, 2007. I am 19, and he is 21, yes we are young, but we've also known each other for a long time. We met and began dating for the first time on Nov. 17th, 2000. No- we did not date the entire time leading up to the day we married. But even when we weren't dating, we remained extremly close friends. Everytime we'd stop talking and we'd think that was it, we were brought back together somehow, even after dating other people. We realized there was a reason for us always coming back into each others lives, and we realized no matter how hard we tried to stop loving one another, we couldn't. Finally after six and a half years of knowing each other, we were married. It was a small, simple Justice of the Peace ceremony, and the greatest day of our lives. Funny thing is, the same judge that *separated* us six years ago, is in fact the same judge that married us! Talk about Fate and Destiny!

I will admit, me and Jeff have had our problems in our past growing up. We've both come along way in the last six and a half year. Jeff's biggest step in making a better life for himself and his son was when he joined the Army. Jeff joined the army in October 2006, and left for BCT *basic training* on November 9th, 2006. He graduated BCT on Feb. 1st, 2007 and left for AIT *advanced individual training* the same day. Jeff finally completed his initial training on May 4th, 2007. I missed his BCT graduation, but I was able to travel to see his AIT graduation. I couldn't be more proud of him. We traveled back to Kansas, where we both grew up, to see some family and get married. A day after we were married, we traveled to Indiana (where I have resided for the the last four years) to see my parents and grandparents. Jeff left May 12th to report to his first Duty Station. I will join him on May 26th, and we will offically begin our lives together as Husband and Wife.

I made this blog, partially to give me one more thing to keep me busy once this upcoming deployment gets here, and partially to keep in touch and provide some updates for my family and friends. Adjusting to the Army Lifestyle isn't going to be easy, it'll be a challenge yes, but its worth it, my husband is doing something amazing, Serving his country protecting the freedoms of many. And I couldn't be more proud of him.

I intend to update this blog once a week, but i do not know if or when i will have internet access in New York, so this may be the only post for a couple weeks or more. I do promise to update this blog atleast once a month if I am busy with work and possibly school in the fall. I intend to stay very busy during this upcoming deployment.

With Hugs and Love,
~Robin
A Proud Army Wife

I will be MIA on my myspace page, and all other forms of internet this weekend, I leave friday for New York, will get there saturday and will be unpacking and enjoying some quality time with my husband. I will update you all the first chance I get, but it might be upwards of a week. Have fun. I will be spending my week packing and sorting all my stuff to be moved and preparing my two furbabies for the move. I will be on and off this next week, so if you need to get ahold of me, just email me or contact me through my myspace page.
<3 Robin

Oooo! How exciting!!! That move came quick! I never even asked you about your wedding ring... you're engagement ring was gorgeous, so I'm sure the wedding ring is as well. Are you flying or driving? Lots of luggage on a plane if you're flying! But that's so exciting. My boyfriend and I move to Fort Wayne, where he works and where I'm going to school, on June 1st. We actually signed a lease on April 16th... so it's been a pretty looong process. But I'm really excited. Well, congratulations again, hun. Be safe and have fun!

Love ya girlie,
Samantha
